Bali’s Biggest Polluters Jacket, 2023
Custom made for Indonesian youth activist, Melati Wijsen on a Levis jacket.
While it looks like any other painted jacket from afar, it’s actually covered in trash and plastic bags collected by @sungaiwatch, washed by me (so fun!), and then sewn into patches.
Bali’s top polluters featured in Melati’s jacket:
1. Danone Aqua
2. Wings Corps
3. Unilever
4. Pt Santos
5. Siantar Top.

The Process.
I used over 15 plastic bags and nearly 50 pieces of trash collected by Sungai Watch from Bali’s rivers.
I was under a bit of a time crunch so I didn’t get to film collaging the pieces of trash together with clear tape, but I’m sure you can imagine that step.
